Our Philosophy

Yakani (formerly Akanani) means ‘build together’ – and with vision, a passion for potential and working with trusted and credible partners, the Yakani Group has built a sound investment portfolio and a reputation as an investment house of choice in southern Africa.

The Yakani Group was founded on the Akanani Platinum transaction in 2007 and has grown to have strategic holdings not only in mineral resources but also property development, property investments, and manufacturing of building and construction material.

The Group has continued to grow in strength by picking investment opportunities which consistently deliver shareholder value – using both positive and negative investor experiences to refocus and reinforce investment strategies to ensure sustainable, long term success.

True and trustworthy partnerships are the foundations of investment. We invest equity capital with management partners in whom we trust to work with us to unlock returns in the chosen industry sectors or businesses.

While we are proud of our BEE credentials, we believe these are not worthwhile without sound investment principles and good governance – so to this end transparency and dependable partnerships are our cornerstone.

With the three values of equity capital – trustworthy partnerships, black economic empowerment and good governance underpinning our Investment Promise – we have achieved considerable success.
